Gingham!

gingham

Dresses with simple silhouettes are a must during summer time. You can wear them with so many styles of shoes. (i.e. espadrilles, sandals, ballerinas). For this dress I would style it with classic flats, a simple straw tote, and tortuous shell sunnies (a must during summer). Very St Tropez circa 1957.

Black and White

908. Street Style: Atlantic-Pacific

I really like all the black and white in this post. Stripes are great and you can never go wrong with them! I am not the biggest fan of Mary Janes but the ones in the left corner are very chic. As mentioned before, I absolutely LOVE white! The white skirt is gorgeous and simple.

Best Dressed: Cannes Film Festival 2012

Jessica Chastain in Armani at the Madagascar 3 premier.

Why Madagascar 3 premiered at Cannes is beyond me, that being said Jessica Chastain look very retro-goddessesq in her Armani Strapless gown.

Mia Wasikowska in Prada at the Lawless photo call.

This is what Cannes should be about; classic silhouettes but also fun! Mia Wasikowska hit it out of the park in her printed Prada dress paired with those amazing coral heels (I NEED those).

Virginie Ledoyen in Elie Saab at the Premier of Rust and Bone

French actrice Virginie Ledoyen kept it simple and elegant in this Black Elie Saab gown. The red nails and soft side waves tone down the harsh black, while still keeping it glamourous.

Diane Kruger in Giambattista Valli at the Moonrise Kingdom premier.

Diane Kruger wowed in this mint Giambattista Valli gown. In my opinion, this was her best gown in Cannes. It suited her frame perfectly.

oh-so french!

oh-so french!

I found this collage on polyvore and I thought it was really cute! I love all the black and white in it. I really like the black miu miu heel! I think it is gorgeous. I really enjoy vintage items except for the fact it can be hard work to actually find something worth buying. I am not particularly fond of the outfit on the left, it is Chanel. The tights are not actually part of the outfit.

Gossip Girl Wedding

Gossip Girl Wedding

I loved Gossip Girl since the beginning! I was so excited when on the show, Blair was going to get married because I knew they would do great with portraying a wedding. Blair wore the most gorgeous Vera Wang dress (although it is not the big one in the center) and it looked great with her long crimped hair. Her hair was so simple yet so elegant. I also like the fact that she has such little jewelry which really makes the tiara pop.

Nina's Summer Wish List

This is the perfect alfresco summer lunch dress. Pair it with sandals like the green K.Jaques or espadrilles.
A classic cotton short is in my opinion the #1 summer essential. They are so versatile and can be dressed up or down.
This classic leather sandal is so fun in kelly green. I'm instantly transported to
St. Tropez!
Peach! Straw! What's not to love? The perfect summer bag
I kind of have a thing for Elephants. This tank is too cute for words!

Dying to Go to... Copenhagen

It may still be a little cold to visit Denmark right now, but that's not stopping us from dreaming about an amazing trip to Copenhagen.

To See:
Louisiana Museum of Art:
Denmark's most popular museum is home some of the best modern art. The museum its self is gorgeous and the sculpture garden is breathtaking with its works by Alexander Calder, Henry Moore, Joan Miró and many more. It is located a little outside of Copenhagen.
Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek Museum:
Although they are know for their sculptures, Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek Museum also houses an amazing French Collection featuring Renoir, Degas and more. Also their collection of Rodin sculptures is suppose  to be the most important outside of France.

Botanical Garden & Museum:
University of Copenhagen Faculty of Science's Botanical Garden is home to extensive complex of historical glasshouses dating from 1874.

Urban Escape

Shireen is Wearing:
Joie Blouse, Steven Alan Shorts, Michael Kors Watch,
Vintage Sunglasses & Steven Alan Loafers

Some people say that an urban escape is not an escape at all. The one thing they don't understand is how the city brings a person back to their roots and truly brings us together. The unique pieces that this outfit has to offer come together in perfect unison much like the city unites us all.

1.  L'Occitane Shea Butter Lip Balm: This lip balm is perfect for California's super dry summers.
2. L'Oreal Sublime Bronze : Self Bronzer is a must during summer. Having a lovely glow does not require hours of hazardous lying out in the sun.

4. Mason Pearson Rake Comb: This comb is great for detangling beachy hair.
5. Bain de Soleil Orange Gelee Sunscreen: To tell you the truth, I do not know much about this sunscreen; the packing is adorable though.

Stripes, Jean Shorts, and Chunky Necklaces

Use somebody

I LOVE stripes! They really draw the eye, yet they are so simple. Jean shorts can be really cute depending what you wear them with. Chunky necklaces are absolutely stunning. They look great on just about anything, especially button ups! Our version of this outfit will be up soon! What do you think?

Neon Yellow

Bez naslova #481

Neon Yellow is a gorgeous color and it is very in style right now! I personally think neon yellow looks best when you only use the color in one item and mix it with neutrals. Neon yellow heels are definitely something to own because they make your outfit so much more fun. They also would look great with a white dress or skirt. What do you think?

Best (And Worst) of The Met Ball 2012

Favorites:

Top Row: Eva Mendes (Left) in Prada, Anna Wintour (Right) in Prada.
Bottom Row: Emma Stone (Left) in Lanvin, Diane Kruger (Right) in Prada.

This year the Metropolitan Museum  of Arts' Costume Institute Ball honored Prada as well as Elsa Schiaparelli. Eva Mendes' tangerine Prada gown with an embellished bodice was just perfect. It's fun and bright, but also lady-like and polished. And I really wish it was hanging in my closet right now. Anna Wintour looked as chic as ever, also wearing Prada. The gold lobster motif truly hit it out of the park, and made the dress playful not ridiculous. Emma Stone looked adorable in her custom Lanvin baby doll dress. And the styling was just right. Diane Kruger looked very goddess-esq in her Prada gown. The deep purple was great to see in a sea of orange and red. And the ostrich feathers put it on a whole new level. Again, great styling. These four ladies above have made fun choices with out being slaves to the super avant-garde.

Not So Much:

Sarah Jessica Parker (Left) in Valentino, Dakota Fanning (Right) in Louis Vuitton

Don't get me wrong, I like love a floral or pastel. However when not done right it can turn into a prom-bridesmaid-anything 80's disaster. Sarah Jessica Parker's Valentino dress is not terrible, it's just not right for her. It's definitely a case of the dress wearing her. I would  have preferred it on some one younger.  Dakota Fanning's Louis Vuitton dress was not her best look. The silhouette is atrocious, and the pattern screams awful prom. The color is pretty on her, though. What do you think?

Pastel Delight

I absolutely love this collage, I found it on polyvore. I love all the light colors, the natural look is gorgeous. The Valentino shoes are amazing! I do not normally like pointed toe shoes but the studding and color of these shoes are fantastic. I also really like white and summer is a great time to wear white. White is a very flattering color and it looks good on everyone! Pastels are a great choice for outfits, look very chic, and clean cut. What do you think?

Tweed Jackets

It is going to be very hard to write this post without mentioning
Mlle Coco Chanel at least once, so here we go. She was able to make the tweed suite so iconic* that it has been recreated by so many brands... You get the idea. Honestly though, many people think they are matronly and doughty and are only reserved for wives of politicians. However, this fabulous jacket does not deserve such a bad reputation. One of the most effortless outfits you can put together consists of slim jeans,  a white t-shirt, flats and a tweed jacket. We will be posting our version of this outfit very soon. Khaki

Nina is wearing:
Steven Alan Shirt, A.P.C. Skirt, Marc by Marc Jacobs Purse
Tiffany & Co. Bracelet, A.P.C. Wedges, Sephora by OPI Nail Color I'm Wired

Every "style" T.V. show, magazine article, or blog post will tell you how important it is to have a white button up Oxford shirt in your closet. It is one of those pieces you can wear with almost anything. They transfer well day to night. They are super soft (hopefully). And they can be worn during any season. Nina has paired her Oxford with a pleated khaki mini and navy suede wedges to give her a fresh spring look. What do you think?

DVF

DVFI absolutely love Diane von Furstenburg! She always has great shapes in her collections. My favorite thing about her is she always puts fantastic colors (as seen above) in her designs. She is an amazing designer and her spring collection was stunning. She has such simple designs, yet so complex making her work outstanding. I have great expectations for DVF and I know she will exceed my standards. What do you think?

Scalloping

I absolutely love scalloping. It is very summery and chic. Chloe has a lot of scalloped items out currently. Over the summer I plan to wear lots of scalloped shorts. Out of all scalloped items, the shorts are my favorite! The scalloping can take plain, simple things and turn them into something amazing. Scalloping is also very in style currently. It is definitely worth investing in a scalloped item. What do you think?

Shireen's Favorites

1. Tiffany Charm Bracelet: This is my favorite bracelet, I have pretty much worn it everyday since the day I got it! The bracelet goes with just about every outfit. I like to add charms to mine that represent things that I do in my life.

2. Equipment Silk Blouse: I love button up shirts! They are my favorite kind of shirts because they can go with any outfit and they are super comfortable. Button up shirts are such a classic, they are definitely worth having.

3. Michael Kors Watch: I love big, sparkly watches. I do not really wear watches to tell the time, I wear them if they match my outfit. I love the yellow gold of this watch and they are very popular now.

4. Marc Jacobs Lace Top: I absolutely love lace!! It is my favorite material. I was obsessed with this shirt since the moment it came out. The white lace over the pink is a great combination.

5. Sperry Top-Siders: These are my go to shoes because they are so comfortable! They match all clothes and they last forever. They are good for all weather conditions.

6. Chanel purse: I absolutely love Chanel purses, although I do not own one myself. What I really like is the shape. A bag is always a great way to add a splash of color to your outfit.

What are some of your favorite things?

Nina's Beauty Picks

1. Chanel Le Vernis: Like most teenage girls, I am obsessed with nail polish. Chanel always has the greatest colors each season, so last spring I splurged on Orange Fizz. I LOVE corals and salmons, and this is the perfect shade.

2. Dior Crème de Rose Baume: I sort of have an obsession with roses, and this Dior balm perfectly captures the smell and texture desirable in a lip balm. Plus, the packaging is beautiful, which is always great!

3. Mason Pearson Bristle Hair BrushEveryone is always raving about how fabulous Mason Pearson brushes are, and I have to admit they are great. I have very thick hair and this is the only brush that really works for me.

4. Cyndi Bands Elastic Hair Ties: As a mentioned above, I have very thick hair. These hair ties are great for pony tails and stay in tack.

5. Jo Malone Red Roses Cologne: I have grown up loving Jo Malone. Once it was time for me to find my "signature scent" I gravitated to my favorite smell: Roses. It smells clean and fresh not stuffy and nauseating like some rose perfumes do.

What are some of your favorite beauty items?
