A Day in the Hills

My family decided to take a mini vacation in Hollywood yesterday. First we had lunch on Vermont Avenue at the Sidewalk Grill. The food was really good (most of the food was Mediterranean style), very fresh, and a great place to go if you want a meal in a half an hour. I got the Chinese Chicken salad (as seen above). Then we decided to go horseback riding at Sunset Ranch in the Hollywood Hills. It was a great experience, you could see all the beautiful nature and if you looked a bit further you could see all of L.A. The horseback ride was very relaxing and it is not very easy for me to relax! Then we got to take pictures next to the Hollywood Sign. Afterwards we were all hungry, so we decided to go to Shave it! I got cotton candy and it was very refreshing on a day like yesterday.

Nina's Favorites

1. Repetto BallerinasI own way too many of these flats. They are so comfortable (I walked around Paris for 6 hours in them once) and they can be paired with a variety of looks. They are not carried in many stores, but are easy to find on net-a-porter.com or mytheresa.com.

2. J. Brand Colored JeansJ. Brand jeans have been my go to for some time. Classic blue jeans can get very boring, so when I discovered the 811 jeans in a huge range of colors I was so happy.

3. Equipment Silk BlouseEquipment blouses are a luxurious update to a classic button up. They are also very versatile, and can be paired with anything from lady like skirts to slim pants. Or you can opt for a 90's ensemble by throwing one over a mini dress.

4. Hermes ScarfAhh, the classic Hermès scarf! What girl does not want one? I can go on and on about the millions of ways to wear them, but my personal favorite is to tie one on my pony tail while at school. It's a bright accent to my plain school uniform.

5. Chloé Sunglasses: I'm not big on "designer sunglasses," but these Chloés are so classic and I
feel like Grace Kelly when ever I put them on.

What are some of your favorites?

Color Blocking

Shireen is wearing:
Steven Alan Shirt, J.Crew Shorts, J. Crew Belt, Marc by Marc Jacobs Clutch,
Tory Burch Espadrilles, Tiffany & Co. Ring, Strawberry Margarita OPI Gel Polish

Living in Southern California, we are fortunate to be able to wear bright colors year round. However we always look forward to summer when we can kick the colors up a notch. For our first outfit post we wanted to display what our style is all about: Fun Colors and Classic Silhouettes. Shireen's Tory Burch espadrilles are a great update to a summery classic and work well balancing out the vibrant colors of the shorts and shirt. What do you think?

Welcome!

Hi, Welcome to Laily and Davis! We decided to create a blog incorporating all our favorite things: fashion, food, and travel. We are mindful of trends but love to stay true to our personal style. Shireen describes her style as: "Classic Glam," while Nina describes her style as: "Preppy Parisienne." We hope you enjoy reading our blog!
